Hello. I'm Buck. Back in the fall of 2015 I became really ill and had to be hospitalized for a few weeks. During this time, I was able to reflect on everything in life so far. I was pretty happy with the experiences and relationships I had up to that point but also realized that I enjoyed things the most when I was with my family. I hadn't always made them a priority over my career or with my time, even though I thought I did. I took a good look at what I was doing with my time and talents and realized that I could do better. I started trying to make it a point to do more with or for my family and actually make them a priority. I stopped playing video games as much and picked up a new hobby, woodworking. With my woodworking, I usually make things for family and sometimes my friends. My wife likes to repurpose or refinish furniture and different things around the house and now I help her. This life change and picking up woodworking skills has brought me closer to my family and even introduced me to new friends. In a way, getting sick was a blessing in disguise.
I have been a car mechanic and have a lot of handyman skills that I 've picked up over the years watching my Grandfather and Father as well as "honey do" projects from my wife. Woodworking is still sort of new for me, even though many of the tools and methods are not. The first thing I built was a simple snowman ornament for our family Christmas tree. Since then I've built: shelves, frames, a router table, decorative hearts and stars, state and country shape cutouts, a crossbow, workbench table, lazy susan shoe rack, and corn hole boards. I'm willing to try to make anything. What would you like me to make for you?
While I am mostly focusing on woodworking, I can still provide handyman services. I can do lighting, install/troubleshoot toilets, backsplashes, install hardware, paint, clean, and more.
